Prospect Resources Extends Nyungu Central Copper Mineralisation Beyond Existing Resource

Prospect Resources Limited (ASX: PSC) is continuing to expand the scale of its Mumbezhi Copper Project in Zambia, with recent step-out drilling at the Nyungu Central deposit extending copper mineralisation beyond the existing Mineral Resource boundary.

The latest drilling has delivered wide copper intersections, including 44 metres at 0.60% copper from 270 metres and 17 metres at 0.57% copper from 186 metres. These results indicate that mineralisation continues beyond the current resource envelope and remains open toward the southeast.

Drilling Expands the Nyungu Central System

Nyungu Central is the flagship deposit within the broader Mumbezhi Copper Project and remains a major focus of Prospect's exploration programme.

The latest step-out drilling forms part of Phase 3 exploration, with 13 diamond drill holes covering approximately 4,043 metres completed at the southern end of the deposit. Additional assay results remain pending, while drilling continues to test shallow extensions outside the existing resource model.

The success of the drilling is important because mineralisation outside the current resource can potentially contribute additional tonnes to future resource estimates.

Wide Copper Intersections Strengthen Growth Potential

The reported intersections provide further evidence of continuity within the Nyungu Central copper system.

Wide mineralised zones can be particularly important when assessing the potential development of a large-scale copper project because they may support more efficient mining scenarios. However, further drilling and laboratory assays will be required before any additional mineralisation can be incorporated into a formal Mineral Resource Estimate.

Prospect has also expanded exploration beyond Nyungu Central. One drilling rig continues to test shallow mineralisation near the southern end of the deposit, while another has moved toward Nyungu West to investigate further growth opportunities.

Further Infill Drilling Planned

The company is also preparing an additional 6,000-metre infill drilling programme at Nyungu Central.

The purpose of the infill campaign is to improve geological confidence and potentially convert portions of the existing resource into higher-confidence resource categories. This work could provide additional information needed for future mine planning and technical studies.

The broader Mumbezhi project already has a significant resource base. The latest June 2026 update increased the overall Mumbezhi Mineral Resource to 208.1Mt at 0.42% copper and 0.49% copper equivalent.

Regional Exploration Adds More Upside

Prospect is not relying solely on Nyungu Central for future growth.

The company is testing additional targets across the Nyungu Hub and wider Mumbezhi licence area, including Nyungu West, Nyungu South, Kamafamba, Chipimpa and Sharamba.

At Sharamba, early diamond drilling has already intersected a visually mineralised copper zone, while Chipimpa has emerged as another major regional exploration target following geophysical and geochemical work.

Outlook for Mumbezhi

The latest Nyungu Central drilling results reinforce Prospect Resources' strategy of combining resource expansion with broader exploration.

Further laboratory assays will be important in determining the final grades and widths of the newly identified mineralisation. Meanwhile, the planned infill programme could improve confidence in the existing resource and support the company's ongoing development studies.
