Prospect Resources Delivers High-Quality Copper Concentrates from Kabikupa Testing

Prospect Resources Limited (ASX: PSC) has received encouraging metallurgical testwork results from the Kabikupa deposit at its Mumbezhi Copper Project in north-west Zambia, with testing producing high-grade copper concentrates and strong recoveries.

The results provide additional support for Prospect's proposed processing strategy at Mumbezhi and contribute to the technical data being developed for the project's upcoming Scoping Study.

Strong Copper Concentrate Grades

Metallurgical testing of Kabikupa transition material produced a copper concentrate grading 31.9% copper at a recovery of 94.7%.

Testing of low-grade fresh material also delivered positive results, producing a concentrate grading 25.0% copper at 94.3% recovery. Both results were achieved after only a single cleaning stage.

The results demonstrate that Kabikupa material can potentially produce a saleable-quality copper concentrate through a relatively straightforward processing route.

Coarse Grinding Could Support Processing Economics

Another important feature of the testwork was the use of a relatively coarse primary grind size, with a P80 of 250 micrometres.

A coarse grind can potentially reduce energy requirements and contribute to lower capital and operating costs compared with processing routes requiring significantly finer grinding.

Prospect has highlighted the possibility of using a centralised processing facility at Mumbezhi to treat material from its different deposits. The latest Kabikupa results add further support to this approach.

Kabikupa Adds to a Growing Technical Dataset

Kabikupa is one of three deposits contributing to the growing Mumbezhi resource base.

The latest Mumbezhi Mineral Resource Estimate stands at 208.1Mt grading 0.42% copper and 0.49% copper equivalent. Kabikupa contributes approximately 23.0Mt at 0.48% copper.

Previous drilling at Kabikupa has also demonstrated the continuity and extension potential of copper mineralisation. This exploration and metallurgical information is helping Prospect develop a broader understanding of how the deposit could potentially fit into a future mining and processing operation.

Simple Processing Route Remains a Key Focus

Prospect's testwork strategy is focused on determining whether copper from Mumbezhi can be processed through a conventional and scalable flowsheet.

The Kabikupa results are particularly relevant because strong recoveries were achieved with a simple processing configuration. Combined with earlier metallurgical work from Nyungu Central and other Mumbezhi material, the results contribute to the company's growing technical database.

The company has indicated that the metallurgical results will be incorporated into the Scoping Study currently targeted for Q4 2026 or Q1 2027.

Potential By-Product Opportunities

Mumbezhi also contains gold and cobalt that could potentially contribute additional by-product value.

The latest resource update identified a significant increase in contained gold, while ongoing technical work is assessing the potential contribution of these metals to the overall project economics.

Next Stage for Mumbezhi

Prospect is continuing its Phase 3 exploration programme alongside metallurgical and technical studies.

The company has planned approximately 26,000 metres of drilling across diamond, reverse circulation and aircore programmes. Exploration is targeting further resource growth at Nyungu Central and other regional prospects.

For Prospect Resources, the Kabikupa metallurgical results represent another important technical milestone. Strong copper recoveries, high concentrate grades and a relatively simple processing route could help strengthen the project's development case as the company progresses toward its Scoping Study.
