St George Mining Kicks Off Geophysical Survey at Niobium-Rich Araxá Project in Brazil

St George Mining Ltd (ASX: SGQ) has initiated a comprehensive geophysical survey at its Araxá Project in Brazil, targeting niobium and rare earth elements (REEs). This marks a critical step in unlocking the potential of one of the world’s most sought-after critical mineral provinces.

Located in the globally recognized Araxá province, the project is adjacent to existing niobium operations and lies within a fertile geological belt known for high-grade mineralisation. The survey will use ground magnetic and gravity data to identify subsurface anomalies consistent with REE and niobium-bearing carbonatite systems.

St George aims to define drill-ready targets based on the survey results, with drilling planned in the near term. Given the increasing strategic importance of niobium and REEs for aerospace, defence, and green tech applications, the project could play a key role in securing future supplies.

Executive Chairman John Prineas emphasized the project's long-term value and strategic location. He also noted Brazil’s established infrastructure and mining-friendly regulatory framework as key advantages.

With global demand soaring and supply chains tightening, St George’s Araxá Project is rapidly emerging as a high-potential asset in the race for critical minerals.
