Prospect Resources Expands Mumbezhi Copper Resource to 208.1Mt as Exploration Momentum Builds

Prospect Resources Limited (ASX: PSC) has strengthened the growth outlook for its Mumbezhi Copper Project in north-west Zambia after increasing the project’s Mineral Resource Estimate to 208.1 million tonnes.

The updated resource is reported at 0.42% copper and 0.49% copper equivalent, containing approximately 877,100 tonnes of copper. The latest estimate represents a 20% increase in resource tonnage compared with the February 2026 estimate, while contained copper increased by 14%. Contained gold also increased significantly, adding further potential value to the project.

Three Deposits Support the Growing Resource

The expanded Mumbezhi resource comprises three main deposits: Nyungu Central, Kabikupa and West Mwombezhi.

Nyungu Central remains the largest component, with approximately 154.4Mt at 0.42% copper. Kabikupa contributes around 23.0Mt at 0.48% copper, while West Mwombezhi adds approximately 30.7Mt at 0.37% copper. Importantly, all three defined resources remain open along strike and down-dip, leaving room for further exploration and potential resource growth.

The scale of the resource provides Prospect with a substantial platform as it advances technical studies and continues exploration across its large licence area.

West Mwombezhi Adds Further Copper Potential

Exploration at West Mwombezhi has also produced encouraging results. Diamond drilling has identified continuous, near-surface copper sulphide mineralisation extending for more than one kilometre.

Several drilling intersections returned notable copper grades, including 8.9 metres at 0.78% copper from 54.6 metres, including 7.0 metres at 0.93% copper. Other results included 6.7 metres at 0.57% copper and 5.8 metres at 0.44% copper.

Aircore drilling has additionally identified two new copper anomalies west of the existing West Mwombezhi resource, with both zones extending for more than one kilometre.

Gold and Cobalt Could Add By-Product Value

Prospect is also assessing the potential contribution of gold and cobalt at Mumbezhi.

More than 2,800 existing copper drill-hole intersections were re-assayed for gold, with results showing widespread gold mineralisation. Some of the strongest results included 23.1 metres at 0.55 g/t gold and 29.0 metres at 0.22 g/t gold.

The company believes these by-products could potentially provide additional revenue streams and improve the economics of a future copper operation.

Phase 3 Drilling Targets Further Growth

Prospect has commenced an expanded Phase 3 exploration programme covering approximately 26,000 metres of drilling. The programme includes diamond drilling, reverse circulation drilling and scout aircore drilling.

The campaign is targeting the Nyungu Hub, including Nyungu Central, Nyungu West and Nyungu South, while also testing regional prospects such as Chipimpa, Sharamba, Kamafamba, Kasombo, Shikezi and Chalamba.

With the Mumbezhi resource continuing to expand and further drilling underway, Prospect is positioning the project for its next stage of technical development. The company is targeting completion of a Scoping Study in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027.

The combination of a growing copper resource, additional exploration targets and potential gold and cobalt by-products makes Mumbezhi an increasingly important asset within Prospect Resources' portfolio.
