Westgold Resources Strategy Update Australia Unlocking Core Value

Westgold Resources (ASX: WGX) has completed the divestment of its Chalice Gold Project as part of a broader strategy to simplify its asset portfolio and focus on higher-return mining operations across Western Australia.

The transaction delivers immediate cash proceeds alongside an equity interest in the acquiring company and additional milestone-based payments. Management believes this approach allows Westgold to unlock value from non-core assets while strengthening its balance sheet and improving capital allocation.

The Chalice Gold Project sale follows several other asset divestments undertaken during the company's portfolio optimisation program. These transactions are expected to generate substantial capital that can be redirected toward expanding core production hubs, improving operational efficiencies, and supporting future growth initiatives.

By concentrating investment on its highest-quality gold assets, Westgold aims to enhance production performance, reduce operational complexity, and create greater long-term shareholder value. Investors will continue monitoring how the proceeds from these divestments contribute to production growth, exploration activities, and overall financial performance.
