Askari Metals Strengthens Critical Minerals Potential at Namibia’s Uis Project

Australian explorer Askari Metals has reported encouraging high-grade polymetallic mineralisation results from its 100%-owned Uis Project in Namibia, reinforcing the project’s growing importance in the global critical minerals sector. The latest trenching program confirmed strong concentrations of tin, lithium, tantalum, rubidium, and caesium across a large pegmatite system, highlighting the project’s potential to become a strategically significant resource asset.

The Phase 1 trenching campaign focused on the OP Pegmatite Target, where mineralisation was identified across a 2.2-kilometre trend. Results included lithium oxide grades up to 0.57% Li₂O and tin values reaching 8,340ppm, alongside elevated tantalum and rubidium readings. According to the company, the mineralised zones typically range between 15 and 30 metres in width, demonstrating the scale and continuity of the system.

Askari Metals stated that the systematic trenching work has validated historical exploration data while improving confidence in the geological model ahead of planned reverse circulation drilling later in 2026. The company believes the project’s location adjacent to the operating Uis Tin Mine provides significant strategic advantages, including access to infrastructure and transport links to Walvis Bay Port.

The Uis Project is gaining investor attention as demand for critical minerals continues to rise globally, particularly for applications in electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and advanced electronics. Tin and lithium remain essential for battery technologies, while tantalum and rubidium are increasingly important in high-performance industrial applications.

With additional drilling programs planned and multiple pegmatite targets still under evaluation, Askari Metals is positioning itself as an emerging player in Namibia’s growing critical minerals industry. The latest results suggest the company could further expand the project’s resource potential as exploration advances through 2026.
