St George Mining Hits Record 178.7m Rare Earth Intercept at Araxá, Strengthening Global Critical Minerals Position
St George Mining has delivered its strongest drilling result yet from the Araxá Rare Earths and Niobium Project in Brazil, highlighting the project’s rising strategic importance in the global critical minerals supply chain. The latest diamond drilling results confirm 178.7 metres at 4.34% TREO and 0.75% Nb₂O₅ from surface, making it the thickest and one of the highest-grade intercepts recorded at the project so far.
This standout result came from drill hole AXDD086, which also included multiple rich sub-zones such as 55.7m at 6.16% TREO and 3.15m at 12.27% TREO, reinforcing the scale and grade consistency of the mineralisation. Several nearby holes also returned strong rare earth and niobium values, proving that the system remains open and continues to expand across strike and depth.
A major advantage for St George is that the mineralisation begins directly from surface, which significantly improves the commercial appeal of the project. Near-surface ore supports low-cost open-pit mining and reduces capital requirements compared with deeper hard-rock deposits. This creates a faster route toward future development and potential production, especially at a time when western nations are actively seeking alternatives to China-dominated rare earth supply chains.
