Resolution Minerals Confirms Major Gold Discovery at Golden Gate (USA)

Exploration company Resolution Minerals Ltd has announced a significant milestone: the confirmation of a gold discovery at its Golden Gate target within the Horse Heaven Project in Idaho, USA.

Project and location background

The Horse Heaven Project comprises multiple tenements including the Golden Gate target, with a focus on gold, antimony, tungsten and silver. The Golden Gate prospect is located in a seasoned mining jurisdiction (Valley County, Idaho) and lies about 16 km from the pioneer Stibnite Gold Project.

Discovery results

In its maiden drill program, Resolution drilled three consecutive diamond core holes at Golden Gate, each intersecting broad zones of gold mineralisation from surface and ending in mineralisation – confirming the “discovery status” of the target.

Key assay highlights:

  • Hole HH-GG25-003C: 253.0 m @ 1.50 g/t Au from surface (open-ended) including 111.9 m @ 2.31 g/t Au from 130.5 m and 18.3 m @ 3.98 g/t Au from 149.4 m, with a peak assay of 5.91 g/t Au.
  • Hole HH-GG25-002C: 265.2 m @ 0.60 g/t Au from surface (open-ended) including 89.9 m @ 1.15 g/t Au from 121.9 m.
  • Hole HH-GG25-001C: 189.2 m @ 1.30 g/t Au from 34 m (open-ended) including 70.8 m @ 2.24 g/t Au from 128.8 m.

Geological model & significance

The nature of the mineralisation — broad, near-surface and ending in gold; hosted in intrusive rocks (monzonite/granodiorite) with associated alteration and sulphides — aligns well with the intrusion-related gold system (IRGS) model. Resolution notes the similarity of Golden Gate to the nearby Stibnite deposit in terms of geology and structure.

Importantly, the fact that all holes ended in mineralisation and remain open in depth and along strike signals potential for a large-scale gold system, which is a strategic advantage.

Strategic advantages

  • Location in the US, within a well-understood mining region, supports permitting and infrastructure potential.
  • Dual-track strategy: While Golden Gate delivers the gold focus, the broader Horse Heaven project also addresses critical minerals (antimony, tungsten) via the nearby Antimony Ridge target and recent acquisition of a mill site.
  • Early success: Achieving discovery-level results this early in drilling enhances investor interest and exploration momentum.

Next steps & catalysts

  • Mobilisation of an RC (reverse circulation) drill rig to follow up the discovery zone at Golden Gate.
  • Release of assay results from the remaining seven diamond holes in the Phase 1 program (HH-GG25-004C to HH-GG25-010C) over the coming months.
  • Application for a larger (50-hole) drill permit to test strike and depth extensions at both Golden Gate and Antimony Ridge.
  • Implications for the company & investors

For Resolution Minerals, this discovery significantly upgrades the value proposition of its US-based portfolio. The combination of gold plus critical minerals positions the company well in a market where supply-chain security and domestic production are increasingly important. For investors, the early drill success, clear follow-up path, and large-scale potential provide a compelling narrative — though clearly, the project is still at an exploration stage and hence carries inherent risks.

Outlook

The success at Golden Gate sets the scene for what could be a company-making discovery if follow-up drilling defines a meaningful resource. The coming months will be pivotal: assay results, expanded drilling, and resource modelling will determine whether the project moves from prospect to deposit. The fact that the system remains open means upside remains. But as always, outcomes are uncertain, and exploration results do not guarantee future mining production or economic viability.
